usdc on base, gasless
Base is the fourth network and the first EVM one, with USDC issued natively by Circle. receiving went live on july 13, sending on july 14.
sends are gasless: you sign an authorization on your device, we pay the ETH, and the transfer and the fee land together in one atomic transaction. in the app, a USDC send on Base costs $2 flat, taken from the USDC. you never hold ETH.
your Base address is a standard 0x address derived from your 12 words, the same one MetaMask would derive, so the phrase works anywhere. in the API, Base joined hotwallets, child addresses, sweeps and withdrawals on july 14; our fee is taken inside the same transaction, and the response comes back already confirmed, with the hash. the app was still in private testing at this point.
api reference at /docs
the API reference now lives at /docs. it's built from an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, the same file we update with every endpoint change, and you can download it to generate a client or import it into your tools.
it covers the whole /v1 surface: account, hotwallet setup, child addresses for receiving, sweeps and withdrawals, address checks and quotes. each endpoint has its request and response schemas, the errors it can return, and ready-to-copy examples in curl, Python, Node, Ruby and PHP. authentication is one header, X-Api-Key.
the integration tab in the panel stays as the quickstart, a short step-by-step, and links to the full reference for everything else.
sign in with an email code
you can now sign in with just your email. type it, we send a 6-digit code, you enter it, you're in. no password to create, forget or leak.
on the business panel, email joined Google and GitHub on july 15, and your first sign-in creates the account and your first API key on the spot. in the app, email joined Google and Apple on july 16, with the same six boxes and code autofill on iPhone. if you already signed in with Google or Apple using that email, the code opens that same account.
codes expire in 10 minutes and work once, and a code sent for the app never opens the panel, or the other way round. we will never ask for a code by phone, DM or support chat.
fixes and improvements
- sign-in screens on the panel and in the app redesigned around one centered card.
- the receive screen has a share button for your address.
- in the app, TON now shows as gram (ton).
