bridge in the app
the android app has a new action on the home screen: bridge. pick USDC, pick where it is and where it should go, type the amount. the screen works like a swap calculator: what leaves, what arrives and the fee, before you confirm.
there is no pool in the middle. circle's cctp burns the USDC on the source network and mints the same USDC on the destination, 1:1, so what lands is the issuer's own token, not a wrapped copy. the receipt shows both transactions, the burn and the mint.
the fee is $2 + 0.3%, taken from the USDC you move, and the smallest amount you can move is $10. the step-by-step lives in move usdc from solana to base.
bridge in the api
business accounts get the same move through the api. GET /v1/bridge/quote returns what arrives and what it costs before anything moves. POST /v1/bridge runs it from your hotwallet: all six routes between solana, base and arbitrum, up to $10m per order.
orders run in fast mode. the response comes back right away with the burn, and the arrival is reported by webhook: bridge.confirmed when the USDC is minted on the other side, bridge.failed if it cannot go through. an idempotency_key keeps a retry from moving the money twice.
the free plan pays $2 + 0.3% per order, with a $10 minimum amount. the full contract is in the api reference.
bridge in the panel
the business panel has its own bridge section, between wallets and deposits, built like the app: one coin selector for both sides, source and destination stacked with a swap arrow between them, and the fee shown as a dollar amount instead of a percentage.
a bridge moves a coin between networks. it does not trade one coin for another, so there is a single coin picker and never two. USDT and PYUSD appear in that picker marked as coming soon, so you can see what is planned without the panel ever trying to move them.
each order opens into a detail view with both legs, and the ledger confirms it once the mint lands.
fixes and improvements
- opening the panel straight on the bridge section now waits for balances instead of showing $0.
- spanish text in the panel's bridge form was missing and fell back to english; fixed.
